I am wanting a tattoo in memory of my paw-paw (granddaddy). I really haven't find what I am looking for.....Did you find something? I am also sorry to hear about you friend. May God be with you!
If you are looking for an "In memory of" Tattoo, you need look no further then the person you lost. What do you have from them that reminds you of them? Is there a song you hear that reminds you of them? Did they collect anything? Did they have a nickname? See where I'm going with this?
I Recently lost my 17 yr old cousin in a tragic car accident a month b4 his 18th Birthday. Phil was wonderful outgoing person. I think about him on a daily basis everyday since he's been gone. In honor of him i'd like to get a tattoo. I have many symbols, songs, and images of things that remind me of him. I just cannot find someone who can actually design this PERSONAL tattoo i am so eager to have. Does anyone have any idea's on how to find someone to design that tat?
Sorry to hear about all of your losses. A tattoo seems like a great idea to memorialize your loved ones. Take all of your ideas and memories of your loved ones to a good custom artist. Look through the artist list on this webstie to see if there is anyone there who's style you like and artwork you think is kick-ass. If you don't see anyone there you like, ask around and do some research on their portfolio, place of business, and standards of safety. Happy tattooing! Dana
I have friends with "In memory of tatoos", the one who lost three in one week... see the bad day thread for info.... got a full back piece as follows. A portrait of each above a picture of each their grave stones. A long with a message he learned from each. His father who never raised him but turned his life around and they became friends... Was "It's almost never too late." His uncle who raised him. "Never give up, because someone always cares" and his friend that ODed on his birthday. "Everyone in your life pays for your chioces" beneath the stones is an item each held dear in life. And finally across the bottom was "Your with me always". That was what he chose as a full backpiece the artist drew it, but it was his idea. As friends we chipped in to help him get it. The moral of my story is: Only you can decide the best way to remember your loved one, but if your idea is given to the right artist you can always have them with you. I hopes this helps those seeking closure in their time of need and my prayers go out to you all.
My loved one just passed away, Im looking for a tattoo in memory.
can you be a little more specific?
A picture is worth a thousand words... find some images that remind you of the good times with your lost one and have a talented custom artist do the memorial tattoo, its not worth settling. here is a link to our memorial tattoos gallery.
My two year old niece passed away recently and I went to the tattoo artist and had him put my ideas together on paper. My niece loved Elmo and we always called her princess. So my tattoo was with Elmo on his knees with a cross praying. Her name was above him with a princess crown hanging off the first letter of her name "J". Then under Elmo was her birth and death dates. Being she died due to heart problems I had a CHD (congenital Heart defects) awareness ribbon put between the dates. I also got a different tattoo with her initals and "princess" in chinese. Then finally I got the name she use to call me (she couldnt quite pronounce my name). Point is find things that mean something to you and your loved one. In due time it will come to you!
