ok, I have a decent amount of work done, close to about 60 hours or more worth....I GOT AN INFECTION, its only in a smaller part of the newest piece I got done...its where the red and black ink got mixed together...now I called the hospital, and they told me to keep cleaning it, I hadnt called the shop because today was the first day it looked a little bad...HOW CAN I TAKE CARE OF IT WITH NO MORE DAMAGE/INFECTION PROBLEMS??? like I said, its only in a two small parts, the rest of it is fine...anyone got any advice? I will call my shop tomorrow to let them know what happened...
you gots yaself a staff infection kid.....take a mild antibiotic and keep that shit clean....your probably gonna have to get that shit touched up...and look into the cleanliness of the shop you got that tattoo at....maybe they havent had thier clave spore tested recently...tsk tsk
I got one of those infections but I did the smart thing and went to the person I knew could help and no it was not the tattooist, I went to the doctor and I told him I knew everything the tattooist used was clean and sterile. He said the infections came from shaving the hair as the ravor pulls the hair out a bit before it cut if and then it snaps back in taking the bacteria back in with it. He also said the it is a normal for it to be on the skin and sometimes it just happens and had nothing to do with the tattoo equipment. So it just happens sometimes and was not the artists fault nessisaily. Unless he was reuseing needles and unclean tubes and everybody that goes there get infected. I dought that is the case!
Everyone is right on this one. I'd also clean the infected area last just to be sure not to spread anything around. Continue your cleaning routine but add antibiotic. I've seen one that was so bad the guy couldn't kill it without alcohol. Just remeber to wait an extra long time before retouching it. Let the skin heal as long as possible and it will better your chances of holding more ink.
