I made the ultimate tatoo mistakes! Now I'm tired of looking at it and reminding myself of all the things I did wrong. I waited many years thinking I'd get a butterfly on my shoulder... nope, talked to those who'd been tattooed....nope, and did the worst of all....switched designs right before I walked in the room. What was I thinking?? Okay, learned from my mistake. Now I'm looking for a good cover up for a distorted blob of color on my ankle. If someone could tell me where to post a pic for ya of the "mistake" I will. I walked into one studio here and was told the only cover up would be a tribal. I'm not thrilled with the amount of dark color it has now .... am I limited to tribal? What started out as a tiny lightly lined vine with a single rose has become dark outlined, dark green "things" and a red thing in the center that does not look like a rose. It might not be as bad as I claim, but for me it's bad. Also seeking advice as to whom might be the best in the Warren, Ohio area for cover ups. Right after I went to the original artist, as he said I could, and told him I didn't feel it looked like a rose and was not real happy with the outcome (admitting I was wrong in what I'd expected). He was not very kind, nor willing to help, but did tell me to come back in a few weeks after it healed a bit more. When I returned, he was gone. That was 8 months ago, and nope, I still don't like it. I've gotten a few names of local artist, but welcome any suggestions. Also would welcome suggestion as to what to turn this into. I've got a few ideas (a sunflower but question size, or a bear but worry about it having to be all black). Many here seem very knowlegeable so I welcome any comments.

First off your tattoo should heal for a minimum of 6-12 months before attempting a cover.....If you e-mail me a photo I would be glad to offer up some suggestions and maybe help out with an overlay sketch or two...Taz

Ahhh, very nice work. Seriously amazing portraits. Dang, if I'd have done this much work checking artists before I'd gotten my tattoo..... live lessons I guess.
Thanks
