New tattoo -- didn't heal properly, help!

Hi, I'm new to the board. About 3 weeks ago I got a tattoo on my foot while I was in Vegas. It is of an Italian flag. I think I took the bandage off too early because I got an infection on the red side. It was a nice, clean tattoo parlor inside the shops at Planet Hollywood so I really don't think it was my artist's fault. Anyway, finally the infection has gone away but the red side ended up with a large, hard and raised up scab. Now that some of it is falling off, I notice that underneath is more of a pink color than red. Did the infection cause the color to "leak" out into the scab? The remaining scab underneath looks almost "waxy". I've heard of some people being allergic to red ink but I have 2 other tats, one is very large on my back and has a lot of red in it. I had no problem with it. The green side has healed like it is supposed to. Do you think my tat will eventually look ok? Right now it looks horrible! I'm sure I will need to get it touched up. How long do I have to wait?

not every artist uses the same ink.sounds like a reaction to the ink. foot tattoos can get infections very easy close to ground and such with all those dust spores and such flying around.let it finish healing up give it a cpl months after that and then go get it touched up. best of luck.

Shit that sounds bad. I've heard of people getting gangrene from red ink on the feet, AND having to have their feet amputated. Seriously dude I don't want to worry you but I would go to the hospital asap.
