So I got my first tattoo 2 weeks ago, a fairly large flower-piece, that has raised ink in the pink spots ( the vines have some 'shadowing' of pink, well small lines outlining it in some spots rather..hard to explain)
i read in a few palces that red ink ( and colors that have red in them) sometimes are raised ebcause of skin sensitivity. the rest of the tat is ok, flat on the surface. has anyone ever had the same problem that went away on it own?
i'm also done peeling, and am still itching-realized that there were some teeny tiny bumps around the tattoo. i wouldn't mix them up with pimples, theyre not. just small, raised bumps that itch..i'm just using some lubriderm a few times a day to keep it soft.
any opinions?
new tattoo, raised ink in some spots?

Lubriderm causes little bumps for lots of people. Im one of them. If you search the archives for lubriderm you will see quite a few people react badly to it. I'd stop using it for a few days and then switch to something else.
Could be a number of things ...very hard to say without seeing the work in a pic (post one?)
What Gabe says is true about Lubriderm but the same reaction can be caused by any ointment or lotion or aftercare...could be the pigment itself or outside contamination....have you exposed the tattoo to direct sunlight?...could be a reaction called photo toxicity.
heres the tat, spots can be seen around it. ( in between flowers mostly)
any suggestion on what cream to use then instead? i do ahve fairly sensitive skin..won't lie aboutt that..so i did get the 'sensitive dry skin' lubriderm. i do have a neutrogena one which is also fragrance free and really just a basic lotion (Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream to be exact..don't know if it has petroleum jelly in it or not, i hear vasoline isn't good which is made straight from the stuff) does it matter after 2 weeks if it even does have petroleum jelly in it? it's done peeling and all that..and this is the only cream ( i test creams on my face first, if i get itchy or hives, its a no-no) that really helps with dry skin and i'm not sensitive to it.
i also have not been out in the sun ( too cold still in new york, weird weather..)
At this point your tattoo looks to be nearly healed, I think I would suggest allowing the skin to breathe for a week or two without benefit of any lotion ointment or cream at all, by then the tattoo will be almost totally healed and if it looks dry you can safely use whatever quality moisturizer you want.
yeah, Id put nothing on it to let the rash go away, then stay away from the lubrtiderm. Im sure there are plenty of fragrance free lotions, I use Aveena. I would stay away from the lubriderm, though. It took me a year or so before I realized that I got all the bumps because of it. I guess my wife knew months beforehand I did though, ha.
sweet..i'll stop using this crap then. thanks guys!!
