I was talking with one of my medical suppliers today and learned about a great new invention, that may have a big impact for us in our trade.
A guy named Greg Schultz who owns a company called Quick-Med Technologies in Gainsville, Fl. has just patented a technique for chemically bonding bacteria-fighting polymers to fabrics such as gauze, that will thwart infection.
Schultz's bandages are coated with positivly charged antimicrobial molecules will dramatically reduce the risk of infection, and he claims, as a bonus can prevent outbreaks of the drug resistant staph infections that have been seen more frequently in U.S. hospitals.
its not on the market yet, but I immagine it wont be long.
