i am running into problems with filling in solid color or even black.smaller tattoos even, you can see the cueculur motions I am making rather than solid color,it looks good till a few days later, I had a tip from another scratcher and he said maybe my machine isn't running strong enough to penatrate the skin consistantly with a 14 round, my power was around 7v at that time and I was useing my liner because to me it seemed to put color in better than repeated "pounding" it in to a dark black or color with my shader . so my question is how to elemenate the swearls i am getting. thx

Try actually learning how to tattoo instead of trial and error. If you seeing swirls in your black/color then your overworking the skin meaning your fucking up whoever is letting you tattoo on them. Put your macine down and get an apprenticeship or atleast try and make a friend with a proffesional tattoo artist. Stop fucking up people. Its not your skin tho so it probably doesn't matter to you.
I was anticipating someone to reply like that ,its hard to find anyone to show tricks of the trade,my portfolio is full of pencil and chalk,i have been raised around scratchers my whole life and im a perfect example of regetable tattoos so I am not trying to sell my work I am learning still my lines and shading are ok and I could call it almost good but not pro I just can't out in solid color yet . like I said I have a giant back peace both arms, legs just bout everything covered in ink and can relate to bad work, I've been a mason for six years and have been in love with tattoos from my first at twelve .(still have it and won't cover it because who have it to me). but want a job I know ill love. I know some people have it and others don't. I think I have it, I just need direction . I won't copy anything have not used any flash everything is original .i am just not ready for solid color yet and my leg proves it. thanks for the criticism , I guess I have to go to my artist and ask his advice without feeling like im stepping on his toes .
truely though thank you for the tip , I don't think I am overworkin the skin . I am afraid of turning the skin to hamburger so if it doesn't go in I don't try to force it . out of the people I've worked on no one has scared and I had one complaint witch I fixed .and she was happy. while learning I have only asked for reimbursements for my needles and tubes .no more I will look for apprenticeship and won't tattoo solid color till I am ready. but ur wrong if id fuck up anyone's body even with alittle scare id feel horrible and don't think I could ever repay them .
If you say your raised around scratchers then why not be like the kid who went to college and pursue an apprenticeship? If you artwork is good and this is something that truly fascinates you then why not take it full force and accomplish your goals?? I understand trying to work a full time job and complete an apprenticeship is a bitch. I did mine for 2 years and yes it sucked ass. There were times that I thought I wouldn't be able to make it. I have a wife and 2 kids and it was very hard for a while but well worth it. Its hard to find answers to your questions because your asking in the wrong place. The internet is not the place to learn how to tattoo. You yourself should know it is very hands on. Im not trying to bust your balls but I think if you as dedicated as you say you are then getting an apprenticeship will be the easy part. Good luck to ya
thank you very much my next step is a portfolio and I will take your advice .
