Not sure if infected

I got a tattoo 9 days ago and it has been a not so good experience. It is on my ankle, a rose with a design around it, took 2 hours. First, the tattoo stuff they sold me gave me a bad reaction. It's called Canvas - Tattoo Aftercare. Some natural stuff like an oil. My leg from the bottom of my knee to my toes swelled so bad it felt like my skin wanted to rip open. I could barely walk on it and it was red and drying out. So I when I figured out it was the spray, I was told to use Ozonol ointment. I put in on and it was like instant relief. So now, it is 3 days after I stopped the Canvas spray but my tattoo is still really red around it. My ankle still swells(I stand at work all the time), but it doesnt hurt. Nothing is oozing out of it. So can I have an infection without it hurting? I can put the ointment on and wash it and it doesnt hurt, but its red and swollen.

Well you stopped using that other shit just a few days ago, so I would give it a few more days as long as it's not hurting. It could still be red, and swollen because of all the recent trauma with the tattoo, as well as the bad reaction to that shit. Believe it or not some swelling is healthy and normal, it is excessive swelling you need to worry about. FYI: I swear by A & D ointment, but there are other ointments out there that are just as good.
