I just notice that an array of banners that have nothing to do with the industry are flooding the tattoonow site.
My conclusions are the following:
The owner of the site is just posting these banners "for free" to portray some sort of elite and to pretend that the message is not going down.
Tattoo suppliers, machine builders, ink manufactures, etc, will be more benefited of a tattoo site with traffic but you don't see a single add. The only tattoo related advertising you see is the one belonging to offthemaptattoo.com and everything related to them which is "internal" advertising
Savevega.com, ABC, HBO, movies, games banners, WTF what does this have to do with the industry??!! I see some major desperation in here to try to mean something.
If you do the math threads are moving slow with very little amount of posts, the same threads have been revolving for the past week. Non of this advetisers will pay for advertising on a board that is dying day by day. It would make sense at least to get TLC as sponsor since they have a tattoo related show ( Miami Ink ).
Just wondering if I am the only one noticing this behavior
Noticing NON TATTOO related advertisers in here??

OMG you people are ridiculous! Those ads generate the revenue that keeps this board free so that you can have somethingh to do on saturday afternoons and the other 6 days in between. The left side bar has industry ads take a peek.
I don't get it is it easier to be an ass online??? Can't you go be an ass at the coffee shop? Wait maybe you could NOT be an ass???
Cravink,
It appears you have everything figured out. What are your neighbors up to?
I don't know about penis tattos but if you need information on bridesmais dresses see above post.
Who the f*ck cares if there is advertising? I hope Gabe is getting filthy rich and driving a f*cking ferrari.. geez..

Wow, Im flattered you think so hard about the workings of TattooNOW. I'm not used to people thinking we're so pathetic, but hey I guess I can get used to it. Wow, already over it. You really have to believe me when I tell you this is a big site and the forum really is a small part of it. Click on the tattoos link up top to see what TattooNOW's really about. You will also notice industry specific banners on every page. I'll have tattoo leaderboards running as soon as I find time. And you betcha I'll be plugging Off the Map, I have some hefty loans to pay off. And, ummm, the artists that work here and come through might feel pretty neglected if I didnt, well, advertise for them on the website we own thats bringing them here in the first place...
It seemed the forum had been pretty drama free for the last week (just one recurring thread). But whatever, your delusion was fun to think about! Ha, giving up free advertising to massive corporations so I could make this forum seem like its thriving instead of the horrible death blow its been dealt... wow. I assume you will stick around to see us go out of business, it'll happen any day now... Oh shit, (knocking on wood). Well, if we go out of business it wont be because of the forum... (should be safe now) Ah! knocking on wood.
lol
Oh @#$, we fell for the bait... Ah well.
ummm. . .back on your meds???
Christ. Does this thread belong down around the ones discussing the pros and cons of business minded people versus passionate artists, actually running the business? Sometimes I like to see people debate arguments it's healthy I believe, but there's always that damned redundancy factor.
Gabe , I hope your bills are paid, your lady's happy , and the kids are fed. If you gotta plug the sci-fi channel or fucking k-mart to do it , rock on big dog. Kinda shitty when ya think about it,
how well your little running ads help keep your site free for damn near anyone , then you have guys plugging themselves and dropping their own names and their own shops and locations ON THIS FORUM , have not paid ya a damn dime. For not actually being a tattooist yourself seems like ya sure give it alot. Sorry bout feeding into the drama but the shit gets frustrating, I can't even begin to imagine how you haven't invested in an envelope , stamp , and anthrax company yet.
I can't say I know how to run a public forum and I"M pretty damn sure very few of the people visiting and returning to this forum know the first thing about how to keep it free. But jesus shit , if this is such a horrible site why the hell do they keep coming back to say it? And they dont' come back with examples of better sites or anything like that it seems. ah fuck idk pardon my language lol.
www.tattooconnect.com
Here, Ill make that a live link to make it easy for visitors... TattooConnect.com.
I don't wanna get into an online pissing match or anything cause I know i have a huge penis I weighed it this morning, but that site's not even active, and i'd guess never has been. I'm not saying this is the first tattoo site ever , but I like it. I don't go to sites that I don't like , idk why most people don't live by that rule seems simple to me. If I had found a place full of more professionals and knowledgeable enthusiasts I'd have gone there. Inked nation , not to talk shit, I know it's a large community but it doesn't adhere to the rules of respect for the industry. Meaning you can post the pictures of the scab king scarring the shit out of his little sister's boyfriend, and it's acceptable. I think there's even sites devoted to practicing tattoos against the grain so to speak. Fuck all to do with an autoclave , sterile field, what do you mean blood is born? Just put on a rubber glove and wipe your needle with alcohol you won't give anyone aids . I hear alot about Gabe's disrespect of this and that and hints at selling out I guess, but here it seems to stay as close to a professional atmostphere as you can get when more than just professionals are involved, and that sort of activity is looked down upon. AND it's governed to some extent. Yeah it's great to share ideas and opinions , but there's a little underlying standard that the professionals try to uphold I think. I can't speak for everyone, just what I observe and how I take it all in. The people with no respect for the art and the industry can't thrive here, they're immediately ostricized. That aspect alone would keep me coming back.
But I think it all just comes down to each of us as individuals. No one forced me to bookmark this site, and no one forces me to come back and keep looking at photos and reading the threads. I love tattoos and this is a healthy environment where people can express their own views and opinions on the matter. And all the talk about the site's owner being biased , and censoring shit, and controlling his site how he wants( who'd have thought he would be looked down upon for doing what he wanted ), all the people that claim to dislike the site and it's proprietor, sure do spend an awful lot of time here voicing that opinion, and he allows it.
Dude not to be rude but are you kidding me that you have to submit your e-mail address just to launch the site or have access to its main page..!?!? Thats ridiculous.
Geniuses behind this one, must be... With it setup like this, all it seems like is that you are after people's addies so you can blast them out with promo at free will. At least let them have a look around, check out what your site is about and get a feel for it so they know what they are signing up for.
I presume you were speaking of the title page that was webbed just to allow people to pre register?...If you go to www.tattooconnect.com/forum you can visit as much as you want...WITHOUT registering at all.
tattooconnect was not in any way developed to compete with tattoonow...if it weren't for tattoonow tattooconnect would never have happened....as far as Cravinks remarks above you don't really think he was serious do ya?....we respect Gabe to the fullest
Anyway my point being that you DO NOT have to give up your email to visit tattooconnect...that again was just for those who wanted notification of launch dates!
If Cravinks post wassn't serious I guess he was just... er.... trolling for a reaction?
