ok im getting something done by a guy in farmington hills michigan. hes a kid, he did an apprentiship but you can tell that he hasn't been out a long time yet. everybody starts somewhere. i have seen some of his work, its not the best ive ever seen but definatly not the worst. he is confidant and what im getting as a celtic knot and shield. my line of thinking is if you cant do a celtic knot you shouldn't be in the business. how concerned should i be, ive never had anything done by anyone with less than 8 yrs experience. i like the kid and he quoted me a very reasonable price...........thoughts?
opinions please

Just remember... you can't untie this knot if it gets "tangled."
Celtic work can be very tricky and if its not done perfect it doesnt look too good.
Celtic work is at some times very intricate and difficult. Put it somewhere where it can be hidden if you aren't sure...keep in mind that it is also hard to cover-up should the need arise..a lot of line work to cover...

As a customer, there's a few things I wouldn't get done by anyone but the very, very best.
Portraits and anything with a lot of lines (including knotwork!) are two of them.
no love for the new kid huh?
Not for celtic NO!...I'm sure he isn't in a shop either huh?
Ya get whay ya pay for ...we cover up "bargain" tattoos all day!
Kids *can* be capable of anal detailed intricate work, but it really takes someone with serious patience to have so much concentration and attention to detail. Basically, it may seem simple to you, but that doesnt mean that tattooing it is simple. I would always go to a serious professional. If they are too busy or the design doesnt interest them, they will recommend a good artist to do the work. I would go to ES Kustoms in MI. Jime Litwalk is amazing, but may recommend you to someone else. I would trust him for good advice 100%.
