I saw on the show Inked a guy came in and wanted a tattoo on his penis and I guess they are just really expensive...because most tattoo artists are male and they don't like having to hold onto another guys dick.

I would like to elaborate, in the past people (friends) would asked me if I can do them a tattoo on their penis and used to get upset but not tell them for fear of having them make it a every day joke. Now about the pain, well yes it hurts. Yes, No, and No. it's a stretchy area so you can't get too much detail in there, tribal is good for penis tattoos. Doesn't hurt that bad until you get to the bottom where the urethra is close to the skin.

Yes, you can get at tattoo on your penis, and it can be either flaccid or hard. The first time I had it done, it was flaccid and I had an eight pointed starburst design tattooed on the head of my penis. This works well for the head, but on the shaft it's better if it's hard unless you have a good guide sketch already on it (like with a permanent marker), and then you could just stretch the skin and follow the guide marks. Both ways work well. An erection might cause a little more bleeding, since the penis is engorged, but this really did not present a problem. My girlfriend's name is on the underside of the shaft and the inside of the foreskin has nine rings tattooed around the circumference, and makes an interesting sort of animation when the foreskin is rolled back. However, the tattoo artis told us that if it dodn't show up like we wanted after a few days he could touch it up with soe green ink. He told us that a freind had had good success but green on on darker skinned people. They tatooed my ex while his penis was soft. His penis was really withered up as the process went on. I guess the pain was such a big turn off. Over a long period of several years, I had a tattoo done and then detailed-in, on the head of my penis. It started out as a simple heart on the broad surface ot the head, which is two or three times larger than the average penis head. well, I got a tattoo (full body) and I had a light blue arrow that went all over my body. Similar to Aang from Avatar, but I got to choose my color. there was arrows going everywhere, and 2 rings with the arrows hooked to them, one near my solar plexus, and the other closer to my abdomen. I can tell you right now that getting a tattoo on your penis is painful as all hell, and if you have a simple design, it could usually be done either way, but agasin, it's painful as hell, but really damned cool.

I have done a few on my own shaft....as much as everyone thinks that it is gonna hurt, it can be tolerable. It hurt as much as any other tat that I have had, I have been given 15 so far...by other artists, and I made it through, the shaft wasn't as bad as the head (where the most feeling is) so, if you are down for it (hard or not) it can be done.....of course you have to be hard for the stenciling, otherwise the proportion is wrong...
