Interesting design, but, to me, it looks uneven. I don't know if it's just the picture but, looking at the picture... the top left point looks too fat, the top right looks too thin, and the bottom little string looks like it curves to the left. the left and right sides of the crown are not the same size/thickness. the lines look like they are not the same thickness all the way along, and have like, thick then smaller parts to them. the upper left open space looks bigger than the upper right open space. same with the bottom open spaces. ...it may just be how the picture was taken and/or the fact that it's around your (leg?), but that's what i saw after lookin at it.

and the space between the crown and the left bend looks bigger than the space between the crown and the right bend. Maybe it is just how the pic was taken??? does anyone else see what i'm seeing?

no its not a butterfly, its something I designed, even if it isn't even its not the artist's fault, I told him to make a direct copy of my drawing, which I still like

Dude, No one is ragging on you for the design. But you asked people what they think, and they responded? Or did you just want some other 15 year olds to respond and give you kudos for getting a tat? What you don't realize, and apparently what a lot of young collectors don't take into account, is that this stuff is going to be scrutinized by people who can really tattoo, and people who can design some serious shit! And when they tell you what they think, it isn't because they're haters. A great tattoo is a great tattoo, no matter who it's on, and they're usually not cheap! I know you said that the artist was just doing what you asked by copying the design exactly. But as a professional (?), he could have at least given you some advice on how to even the thing out and make it symetrical..............it would have taken 5 minutes. Jesus, all you had to do was fold the paper in half and compare the two sides. No one will ever be impressed by the fact that someone put a permanent mark on another for next to no money. You have to live with it a long time, and a tattoo is about the last thing that you want to try to save money on. Why would you pay top dollar for some really hip clothes that you're only going to wear for maybe a year, and try to skimp on a tattoo that your going to have forever? The bottom line is, the tattoo is there now. Just don't be in such a hurry with your future designs if you're going to display them and ask people what they think. Paper is cheap, take the time and tweak the shit out of it until you know that it can't be any better. And when you save up enough money to pay the best artist you can find whatever it takes to put the design on, you've done all that you can....................except wait until you're of the minimum age that artist requires you to be. Do you know what's there now? A three inch thick -black- tribal like band to cover it up that encirles her entire ankle. The orginal tattoo was about an inch by an inch and a half. My sister is 33 now, and I know that she would have liked to have something else there then what she has. Your tattoo is fairly clean, sharp, yes there are mistakes but they are somewhat minimal. What you're really going to hate is when you're 25, and no longer think you're a vampire, and no longer care about looking tough. Just like my sister no longer loves dolphins and unicorns.

it doesn't matter which i am, and it is not cheating. then light tables and stencils on the skin are cheating too. think before you speak. And, even if you don't want to fold it in half to draw, you AT LEAST do that to check!

If my dad had a problem tattooing on 15 year olds (with a parents signature) then he wouldnt have tattooed on my sis and her friend. lol, please, i don't have to be a tattoo artist to know art. I've been drawing since before i can remember, and my grandmother is an artist, so i grew up around it. The problems with your tattoo weren't so much with the application, it's with your poor drawing skills and lack of the ability to make it even and symetrical. Then, obviously the guy who did it was stupid enough to not even it out. Oh well, you have to live with it, not me. Ya know, it kinda reminds me of the Kingdom Hearts logo...just ugly and yucky and blah. TCE, don't worry, i love pointing out faults...lol, maybe too much sometimes :D I may not draw tattoos (though, i have drawn 2 for people, and when they get them i am going to get a pic to see what you guys think of them...though i warn you, one girl i think is going to a scratcher, so we'll see what happens). I think, aside from the tattooing part, you just have to know art to tell if an image is good or not....and that tatt. deff isn't

Oh, and, i was under the impression that, no matter what you bring in, the artist has to trace it to a. make sure they are comfortable with it, and b. to make the outline so they can make the transfer. So....he couldn't have just made a direct copy of what you gave him...could he? or, can one of the professionals on here let me know if i'm wrong...i honestly have no real clue

Ducky, I'm no artist by any stretch of the imagination, but in the spirit of keeping my project moving along in light of my artist's busy schedule, I spent several weeks drawing, and re-drawing over and over a small section of the overall design to be placed on the tops of my feet. I fully expected that he was going to want to tweak it, because, after all, it's his work that's on the line, and I had no problem with that. As it turned out, he said it was fine, and was perfectly happy to burn the stencils from the paper I gave him. Of course, I did fold the paper to check myself, and I'm damn glad I did. I'm my own worst critic, and I don't need to be spending any more time agonizing over small imperfections. Take care TCE

This kid...Ryan is his name has been sending me stuff to look at for quite a while...I think he is actually a good kid and will probably one day be a good tattoo artist...I'm pullin for him...I think he was kinda caught up in the moment with a "no good nik" type of friend egging him on....He is normally very polite and respectful and I'm sure he regrets sayin all the crap he said on this post...Ya gotta remember that his is just 15...I know thats no excuse to say some of the things he said but he'll think about it and realize he was wrong...No his tattoo was not the greatest but I've seen much worse come out of big name studios and no I don't think he should have been tattooed till he reached 18 but hey we all gotta learn... Just a word of advice that i give to all of the artists that get rude and bent out of shape on here...you HAVE to think about how you are presenting yourself at alll times! the internet is such a big resourse now a days, a lot of people will see this and give you little or no credability for anything. You don't want someone to google your name and see this post that you did 5 years from now and be like man, what an ass, and he couldn't even stand by what he was saying...and was rude as shit. They won't think "oh he was only 15" and give you a free excuse. Nobody's art can be perfect, thats why there are light tables and stencils, rulers and 50+ shades of colored pencils...but you have to take the constructive critisism along with the good...i don't think this post would have gotten to the point it is at if there hasn't such a "what the fuck you don't know anything" responce to the negative feedback. -Ducky (P.S., i'm a girl, since you asked)
