Piercing and the certification (required or not)

Hello all....... I was just wondering is there anyone out there that does apprenticships for body piercings? I have looked at thousands of schools that want you to pay big money for a 2 weeks to 4 year course. I just really don't have time for all of that hogwash. I need to get into this fast. Oh yeah and for the State of Ohio there is no certification for piercing. I just need a pretty good apprentice that isn't gonna charge me an arm and a leg for their time. I have a little experince with piercings I have a total of 14 and all but one I performed on myself with just a basic sowing needle and a potatoe. Well, except for a few areas of my body. But, I really need some help ASAP!!!!!

Another kid who wants it now but doesn't want to earn it. Your attitude towards this is really horrible. I hope in a few weeks you'll be past this little phase and be onto something else.

Wow, You are really mean I never said that I didn't want to earn it. That's the whole point right? I was just asking if there was an apprentice in Ohio that mihg tbe able to help me out? But, instead of getting someong who is serious about this matter I got someone to take and just make my hopes of becoming a professional piercer all that much stronger. So then I want to say thank you for your comment. Because now I know what I am up against. This is gonna be a challenge I see to find a good apprentice in my area. Thanks for your time. Jenny

I think you are looking for an APPRENTICESHIP...not an apprentice...Look its the way you worded things in your original post..."don't have time for that hogwash" I believe you said....your attotude demeans the whole body mod profession...there are no shortcuts in a profession that deals with invasive proceedures...aand if I were you and was going to apply for a piercing apprenticeship I wouldn'y mention that I had pierced myself with a sewing needle ...you will probably be thrown out and laughed about for the next few days...that kind of thing is frowned upon. Rethink your words kid....while you are at it go to the very top post the one that says "read before posting" that you so obviously did not read...read it and the insert "apprenticeship 101...it applies to piercing too...TAz

Wow, thanks Taz but I did read it and yes I did mean apprenticeship. Just bare with me long days at the factory. Ummmm, I really am not looking for any shortcuts. I just don't think that shcools are worth it. And I am not a kid by the way I am a grown women but that is besides the point. and for one apparently no one is readding what I wrote at all I was asking for help on the matter. And all I get is a bunch of crap in my face. Which is alright but, would help much more if someone was gonna help me out instead of correcting my grammer. And yes I thought it was funny about me piercing my self with a sowing needle. That the whole point of me mentioning it which really means I need help. But also that was on myself I have done other piercings with a regular piercing needle as well. On myself and on family. The cracks are cool that you all are giving me I can take that, but they really are not helping me at all just making things worse. So, please if you really have some time in on piercing the body and all that good stuff I would like to hear from you. Or, your oppinion. But if all you have is wise cracks please don't say anything at all. I have really been working hard to get this up and going. Plus this type of stuff is what makes people have problems finding help. Hey Jenny...I am sooo sorry!...I have to apologize...I didn't mean to make fun or insult you...maybe Krystof and I both just took you wrong....And I call EVERYONE "kid"...I am old...I can do that kid...don't take it personally....its just that some of the things you said(the hogwash remark) didn't set well...Piercing while not Tattooing still requires professional training...it is an invasive proceedure and lack of training can mean very bad results...infections,damaged and even paralyzed facial muscles,hepatitus and even aids can be passed from piercing therefore you have NO business piercing ANYONE! Family or not. Now I did give you a suggestion but I don't think it is one you want to hear...read the post "apprenticeship 101"...it DOES apply to piercing as well as tattooing....While I know of no REPUTABLE schools that teach piercing there are shops every where that take on apprentices every day...find one...if they want an assload of money up front walk away....there is really nothing else I can tell ya kid...Again I am sorry if I wasn't more circumspect in my wording and I did not mean to offend you or put you off... Well, Taz now that was a turn of events now wasn't it. Yeah I know about all the things that can happen while doing piercings. But, as A young adult you really don't care about all that. And then you grow up and learn there is alot more to it then just sticking a needle in someone. But on the good at least I am tested every year for Hip B, HIV, AIDS, ect.... all that sweet that nast that funk that gushy stuff. So, thank God I lucked out by not getting anything from being stupid as an kid. But, I am so ready for this everyone just don't know how badly I can taste it. This have always been a intrest of mine and I am hoping for it to be my passion. But, one queston for everyone who reads. If you woule like to help me find out the New Laws and Regulations for the State of Ohio on tattooing and piercing would be a great help. The only ones I can seem to find is not current they are for 2003 or is that the newest they have. Thanks a bunch for reading and all your help Taz!! :* Jennifer@.@

Jenny...have you seached the net ...google the state of ohio and look for an office of professional registration and/or tattooing and piercing....could help...also google for staet tattooing and piercing laws... By the way you are welcome and ....did I catch any flies?..LOL!!! T

Wow I guess you are alot older than I thought you would be. Ummm I have been searching all day for OSHA and board of health shit all day. It is quite frustrating, but am getting there.
