hi i want to get my nose pierced and my piercer wants to use a nostril screw,but i want a stud,but he says it can't be pierced with a stud is that true?if so why?

hi angie...the reason he wont do it with a stud is more than likely the stud you wanna use is not a piercable grade metal...it needs to be a certain grade of surgical stainless steel so you wont end up with an infection...its really for your own safety. most nose "studs" are made of a cheap non piercable type of material. If your piercer is being that adament about it that usually means he is a good respectable body piercer and chances are you want him to do the piercing so it comes out ok with no problems. Now once you heal your piercing(nostrils generally take about 2 months maybe a little longer) and that is depending on how well you care for it during your healing stage.
