hey man, your best bet, by far, will be to have the tattoo artist doing the job to design the tattoo. You can check out all sorts of ideas from loads of artists in our california tattoos gallery.
any other elements you want worked into it? just the name with the I as a kay as so what will offset the balence of the tattoo as the i is no where near center back. generally lower back tattooes have a v shaped orientation to accent the natural curves of the back
Also, check out get the perfect tattoo that goes over a lot of good advice about picking tattoo artists and designs.
not to sound like a prick .but besides asking nicely , ya might wanna offer some cash as well. You want a good tattoo it's gonna cost you from start to finish, a good tattoo starts with a good design. Not saying you should go broke , but hell I'm not even a tattoo artist and I won't pick up a pencil for less than 20 bucks. Basically what I mean is , money motivates people, money really motivates people when it involves doing something they're passionate about as well. You're more likely to end up with a killer design , designed by the artist intended to do the work, if he's got a full stomach and his rent's paid ya know?
Thats the reason not everyone can get an artist to draw on demand when they walk into a studio. They have no respect just draw me this, change that, Can I take the drawing with me to think about it ?
Thats enough to make an artist pick and choose his clients.
Yeah, to get artwork good enough to be on your body you have to pay for it to be drawn up. Well, pay for the tattoo and the drawing is usually included... most custom artists I know will put the deposit toward the last session of the tattoo. So if you commit to an artist they will usually draw until you are perfectly happy. Some charge for drawing time too. In any event, the artist doing the drawing should be the one doing the tattoo for many reasons...
sometimes i will draw shit up cuase i need the practice anyhow....
but good luck getting your tat drawn up... even i'm not touching this one.
i will draw you up something sick and fed-ex you the hard copy for $50-65 dollars depending on the design....if you dont like it ill give you your money back...jay
