Popped blood vessels

I got a new Darth Vader tattoo on my upper thigh 3 days ago. When I left the tattoo place, I noticed around my tattoo was red (I expected that), and when I went outside for the first time my tattoo burned like hell. I noticed that after I washed it off with soap and water that the redness was spreading down into my inner thigh, and there was light reddish purple dots going down it. The next day, there was more, but it didn't hurt or anything. Now today, it looks like I have a huge chunk of popped blood vessels going down my inner thigh and they are dark purple. This is my second tattoo, first on being on my shoulder, and I never had this with it.. Could it just be how my skin is reacting or I'm bruising? Someone please help me out!
