Portfolio

I'm in the preocess of finding an apprenticeship and I'm puttin together a portfolio. I'm wondering if anyone can give me a few pointers as to what would make a good portfolio.. type/kind of art, how many drawings, stuff like that, tks Mike
I would do a wide range of things like hearts, roses, skulls the traditional stuff etc and also some type of realistic drawings whether that be portraits, wildlife or whatever and then just some stuff youve made up yourself whatever that might be. Try to do it in a way so it would be tattooable - by that I mean not too confused or fussy, does that make sense? Hope that helps, good luck.
We were looking for the best we could find. Style was less important, obviously you got great advice to build a very attractive portfolio. Khalil was the guy who landed the apprenticeship here. his portfolio is awesome, and he is hammering out a drawing or painting a day. He is also an extremely hard focused worker who isnt done with a job until everything is cleaned up. If you havnt gone to art school, I would highly recommend it! Can we see some of your work?
gabe just out of interest do you do any art at all?
No, not really. I do do some graphic design, but cant draw or anything. hopefully as the businesses settle in I'll have time to spend with all the artists and really pick up some skills, but until I have time to properly devote to learning a new language, I'll stick to focusing on what I/we do best.
