Portrait Tattoo Artists in NJ

I just turned 18 and I've been wanting to get a portrait on my upper arm of my mother who passed away when I was eleven. My dad gets his tattoos from K & B in hightstown and the owner does portraits but i was wondering if there are any other exceptionally good portrait artists in nj

I live in Jersey too,and there really aren't many excellent portrait artists in this State..I got a portrait of my Mom last year from Shane O Neill.He was a guest artist at The White Lotus Tattoo,in Tom's River.You can call the shop to see if he will be doing a guest spot there again.732.505-6887 His site is www.shaneoneilltattoos.com Chris Adamek is very talented-i didn't see those portraits he has on his site until recently,or i may have gone to him. But the thing with Shane is,he specializes in photorealistic work,so he does it on a daily basis.

yeah, i've seen a bunch of pictures of portrait tats and there is one common aspect to them that i don't like... in alot of them the contrast is off...the lips tend to be extremely, almost as if the artist gave them black lipstick and i think that just looks awkward. and since it's a portrait of my mom i want it to look like her, not a portrait of an "emo" version of her lol

If you can take the drive down to DE, then definitely try to get a booking with Shane O'Neill. He is definitely the most well known portrait artist closest to NJ. I was suggesting Chris Adamek if you must stay within NJ. From the artists I've seen in NJ, Chris seems to do the best portraits, among several other things.
