anyone ever hear of using prep h for healing tattoos?, when i got one done i thought it was a joke when i was told to. then i decided to try it out, they healed amazing, didnt itch at all. and healed fast, just wondering if anyone else has heard of it?
It's only recommended for those who are complete a**holes from head to toe! (sorry, couldn't pass that one up). Serious answer, I don't know, but I'll only follow the aftercare instructions of the artist doing the tattoo, and I've never had one that recommended prep-H...
I've heared that one in the past, and I tried it on one of my tattoos for about a day, and I hated the smell, so I went back to A & D. Glad it worked though.
yeah it definetly doesnt smell the best, ive used other things, and thats been the best so far, ive never used anything acually made for tattoos, well one spray stuff, canvas skin or something, it smelt worse, and made all my clothes oily and stained. but just checking see if anyone else heard of it..
Prep H actually does work quite well for healing tattoos. Swollen inflamed skin tissue that burns and itches and needs help to heal. The shop I came up at many years ago recommended it and I have used it myself in the past. It does the job as well as anything but most people don't have to balls to go to the store and buy it. If you are an ass hole though, don't use it, you might disappear or at least shrink to a mini-me.
it also works good to if your allergic to alot of things, i used something my roomate used for his before, and i got a rash right away, and the prep h cleared it up really fast
This is Tim two at Painted Angel. I just thought I would share this information. Hemorrhoids are just swollen tissue, which Prep H is used to treat. However... Since the 60s people knew it could be applied to a number of things other than your ass. The company heard of this and wanted to market the cream as a cosmetic aid and/or pain reliever, but it would have cost too much money. They decided it wasn't worth it and reformulated to avoid lawsuits. Biodyne, which is responsible for tissue healing, was replaced bye phenylephrine HCI which restricts blood vessels. The new formula (which you get in the US) has been shown to raise blood pressure. By the way, the original formula contained shark oil. People considered it great fish bait. No more though. Canada does sell the original formula though. Yeah, I'm kinda a nerd.
People have been using prep H for years for healing tattoos....it smells and stains shit but yes it works and its safe...hell Guy Aitchison uses it for his clients who are problem healers. So yes there is truth to this rumor!...TAz
I would think the main ingredient in PrepH (Alum) would be the one item responsible for any good results. It is an astringent. It shrinks tissue. Would be great in helping lock ink into a fresh tattoo by tightening up the pores, fresh holes etc. Also works great in tightening up your ole lady .....Tip (make dam well sure your in first!) Some woman even use it as a facial. It tightens up the face taking away wrinkles.
My guy told me not to use anything, just wash it like normal. Why are there so many different opinions on how to take care of a tattoo? My outline healed fine (granted it was just an outline) and it stopped itching after about a week and a half. I just had color done, so I'll see how if it heals as fast. Just curious about all the different healing advice!
Its my belief that a tattoo heals "in spite "of not" because of" the aftercare method.
ive just had a butterfly tat which is great but ive started using black cat after care cream after i was told to try this has ive always used savlon cream which works wonders ....on my other tatts ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Follow the advice of your tattoo artist. He knows best :)
