I have a tat on my left ankle, it is about 5 years old. I had a scab on it from an injury (none related), when the bandage was pulled off the wound I saw that some of the ink from the tattoo had leaked out.
Is this normal?
since then I have not had any problems and new skin has formed on top now, but a bump remains...
what does all this mean? is it at fault of the artist?
somebody help!
thanks

how is it the fault of the artist that you wounded your tattoo? it was five years ago. If this is the only problem encountered within 5 years then it wasnt the artists fault
I think you mis-understood what I was trying to ask, I was not blaming the artist I was wondering whether it was maybe because of the way the tattoo was done... The artist is a great person a friend even.. has done my other 2... I was just wondering...
in the mean time is it normal for it to leak the ink???
I am sorry that I did not clairify my question I meant nothing by it...
The reason some of the ink came out is because it basically was exposed. You have to understand that the uppermost layers of skin protect your tattoo. When something happens to them like a really deep cut, scrape or anything that exposes the derma layer (the new skin cells where the ink or pigment is located) then those pigment molecules are going to be exposed. In a way its like your skin is in the healing phase again and you basically have to treat it that way. If you have a bump, that really could be scarring from the separate incident and then not propperly taking care of that wound. If you have questions email [email removed]
