Questions from a college student.

I am a college student studying nursing/medical office assisting. I don’t know if I would call myself an artist. I paint, draw…knit; crochet… pretty much anything artsy, but only as a hobby/ therapy. My question is, if I was to get an art degree would that help me get into the tattoo industry? I was also wondering if my medical background would also help? I’m not into becoming an artist for money at all and I don’t know that I would want to work in a shop on a full time basis. I respect the art and would love to learn and I see the art as therapy to others and myself. It would be cool to maybe be a guest tattoo artist, after training for years of course. Any comments or ideas welcome!! Thanx for taking the time.
