rare ink reaction???

2 messages · last activity 10/6/2005

ive been told i am having a rare allergic reaction to blue ink, my skin is red, hot and forming painful open sores. it seems to mostly be around the seafoam green and less around the 2 other shades of blue. my tattoo is only 6 days old and i am wondering if my skin will eventually adjust to the pigment or if i will have problems permanently? has anyone else had anything like this happen? i am on antibiotics now to help heal up the infection. any info is greatly appreciated!!!
ouch bummer drag and just sorry to hear it this could be a reaction to the ink yes other possibilities are reaction to ointment used during the tattoo and after reaction from flux this is what we use for those of us that make our own needles if the flux was not properly rinsed and cleaned or neatrulized then a reaction along the lines of what you are describing is a possibility keep on your meds from doctor and follow his words you may need a touch up on this piece and upon doing so i would ask the artist if they make there own needles and if so how they rinse and clean there are specific ways of cleaning the flux out of these made needles to prevent a flux burn from happening like i said it could be a ink reaction also what ink brand was he using and was this tattoo done in a shop
