Rash

Hi everyone...I was reading some of the threads and it seems like everyone knows there shit, so hopefully you can help me! I got a tattoo Friday night (star on my wrist, pink fading to white) no real probs out of the tattoo itself (swelling the first night, soreness, etc) but Sunday morning I woke up and had little red bumps from the bottom (not touching) of my tattoo down to the middle of my arm...any ideas what this could be? I was thinking it is an allergic reaction to something but I have no idea what..or how to get rid of it. It doesn't itch, burn or anything unusual, just have little red bumps (kinda looks like a heat rash) Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Probably an ointment/lotion rash...Ya didn't say what you were using on it?????

I am only using lubriderm and only applying to the tattoo, but the rash is not on or around the tattoo only below...

I would stop the lotion immediately. Lubriderm makes some people break out in a rash. After the bumbs go away (1-2 days) try another fragrance free lotion.

...or depending the tattoo, if you can try dry healing, simply wash your tattoo 4 times a day with a neutral soap, pad to dry and cover it for the first 2-4 days. Let it air after that if you can assure the tattoo won't get in touch with clothes, sheets, other peoples, etc. Some times, that is better than anything else on the skin.

I would always recommend using your artists instructions. I have dry healed 4-5 tattoos and the one artist who recommended I didnt dry heal was the one tattoo that healed badly. different artists tattoo differently so they know best how their work heals. We're obviously not doctors and cant see the rash, but my skin breaks out the same exact way as the posters when I use lubriderm. you might not need to switch lotions but stop depending on how dry the tattoo is.

I was using Lubriderm to heal my new tatt as well. It was fine for the first week and a half but now I have broken out in a pimply rash all around the area as well. From reading lots of other posts i'm guessing it's the lotion, that maybe I put too much on. So i've stopped using it but it's spreading a little bit and getting extremely itchy.....not sure whether to just leave it be for a few days or start a different cream?

My tattoos always seem to get a rash around them after a few days. At first, I thought it was the a&d. But then I did a dry healing menthod and still broke out. Luckily though, it seems to happen around the tattoo rather than on it. So, whatever...

i jus got my 3rd tattoo on my theigh i got it saturday night i started to notice a rash wedsday morning now i have a rash type spots around my tatoo n sum what inside it and below the tatto is of a star i have been using a+d can sumwun plz help me

sid got a rash after he got tatted up by phil, in his house. i told him not to do it, but he said it was cheaper then the shops. had a skull put on his forearm, the whole thing scabbed up and turned rusty brown and smelled like ass. he was down in the dumps for awhile took like 3 months for it to finally heal. he aint learned nothing though gonna do it again. can you get the cops after someone like this? i mean im afraid hes gonna hurt sid real bad.
