Does anyone have any insight as to a meaning for a red and black star (5 point ) Tip of the star is to the top and each of the 5 sections created is half black half red. Appreciate it.

It's a common anarcho-syndicalist symbol. The black represents anarchy, and the red represents socialism.
The black and red nautical star is a symbol for guidance. A lot of sailors get it. Back in the day they believed it would get them home safely. They used stars to navigate during the night.
