yes, so make sure you go to a real pro.
and the blisters are the most amazingly disgusting thing in the world. I have pictures, I really need to post them online.
the initial lazering is about like getting a real good thwack with one of those nice thin but strong rubber bands (made me break a sweat) after that you'll have a nice blistery burn not unlike a good grease burn.
the saving grace is that it doesn't take near as long to lazer the the tattoo as it did to apply it. But you will have to go back for multiple visits if you want it completely gone. Depending on how well the original tattoo was applied, it may not take to many treatments till you can get a talented artist to cover it up.

Kim Chastain lazers right in the shop and is very proffesional.
it's worth it to have a tattoo that you really want.
And many times, you're left with a scar in the same shape as the tattoo, so do your research the same way you'd research a reputable tattoo artist. Are you looking for complete removal, or to lighten it up a bit to make it easier to cover with another tattoo?
I just went to the Laser Center of Wisconsin for my second session of laser tattoo removal. The first session made absolutely no difference and it didn't hurt a bit with an analgesic cream called LMX applied 30 minutes prior to the laser treatment. Yesterday, the laser hurt much more, but it isn't unbearable with a numbing cream. The technition went over it a lot more aggressively than the first time. It burns for a few hours afterward, but take some Advil and you should be fine. It has some pin-point bleeding and small blisters. I was advised to keep it covered with Polysporin for 5-7 days... Hopefully, this second treatment will get rid of some of the color! The technition gives you a copy of what you should expect from the first treatment and it said "You will notice a 30-40% fading of the tattoo after the first treatment..." Which is totally untrue because it depends on your own Immune System, tattoo, color, and skintype. I came to the office to make a complaint and she gave me the second session free so I will keep my fingers crossed. If this fails to make a change, I am going to get Photoderm. I want it completely gone and it is only a blue/black small star.
Good Luck!!!
