just wondering if anyone knew where i could get a layout of a power supply. im looking with the help of a electrition student to make a power supply. any links or books i should find? i am going to make it so it reads digatly and i would like it to have the option to save one option for my liner..then save the speed for my shader.
also...dont know if it matters....but ill be using a mickey sharpz line-o-graph for liner and his hybrid for my shader
A power supply is a power supply! How far along is yor electronic student? You'll spend good money for a Mickey Sharpz, but cut costs on a P/S (power supply)? Now that that is out of the way you'll need to build a 0-12VDC @ 2A, try looking for a cookbook: http://www.maxim-ic.com/cookbook/powersupply/ By the time you round up the parts you could have ordered it from some good friends like: Technicaltattoosupply.com wwta2.com spaulding-rogers.com superiortattoo.com or even EBAY: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZpower_supply_sourceQQhtZ-1 http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsj43QQhtZ-1
Check out http://pulsetattoogear.com/ they already make a digital readout dual power supply. I've been using it since it's release, and it's great. JOE www.joecapobianco.com
awsome thanks for the link. im just looking into how their made and see if we can make a few nice designs. im stillo planning on buying a eikon, just would like to do some costum stuff since its a possiblity
Also you could try a company called Dermagraphics. They are generally a little less pricy and they have great equipment. www.dermagraphics.com Dual LCD display with two cores and two fine control pods, using two sets of female banana plugs or two sets of female RCA jacks (phone plugs). Set one side for liner, the other for shader. Mark each side for liner or shader. Uses one transformer for both. Only one works at a time. You can use a toggle switch if desired.
hey....i've been using eikon's ems 200 power supply for over a year and i love it.... if you ever do get somthing built....i'd love to see, try or buy!!! seriously!!! good luck!!!
not to sound rude but it sounded like a technical question but you have recived some good advice so i will say this i have heard and seen a motorcyle battery also used for a power unit with a trickle charger to keep the charge best of luck
If you already have a few basic skills of wiring then you should have no prob using a old computer power supply already has a plug in you just need to ad your stuff you want to in line .....adjuster.. switch..exct get it ....if your in school or your friend is you can achieve this with the right tools and know how...or just ask the teacher for help..
Get the tripple switch from pulse that works with any power supply. You'll be able to hook up three machines with one power supply. It has manual switches so all you do is to put barrier film on the dashboard to keep it clean with every tattoo. Here is the link: http://www.pulsetattoogear.com/product.php?productid=16180&cat=264&page=1 I have my EMS 200 but I rarely use it for tattooing, to me it's more like a visual reference to tune machines before sending them out to customers. I love my mini PS . Here is a link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-Tattoo-POWER-Supply-The-ORIGINAL-MINI_W0QQitemZ280160493466QQihZ018QQcategoryZ33917QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem 155 and it comes with clipcord + 100 for the pulse switchboard and you have 3 machines hooked up in one PS. Building your own thing always taste better than buying them. Good luck
oh...and herei s a link for a PS kit: http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=C6895 Cheers. PS: there is also a thread going on tattoo connect which is where I got this link from: http://www.tattooconnect.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2348
Hello, i'm the owner of BTL Tattoo Supply. We carry the type of power supply that you are looking to make. It is the Precision III with three presets that are selectable hands free by our double pedal footswitch. I have one left of our old model if you are interested and new smaller models with more features will be available in late December or early January. For more info you can visit www.btltattoo.com or contact me at [email removed]
I'm not going to tell you how I did it (i'm one of those folks that like to keep my knowledge within my close circle of trusted compadres) but I love keeping the d.i.y. aspect of tattooing alive that's exactly how we got this far and the only way this thing of ours will keep going forward. And sometimes or more often then not if you want something done right ya gotta do it yourself, so I say mix your own pigments(if you know what the fuck your actually doing) and yeah make your own needles and why the hell not make your own godamn power supply the way you want it. Me and my trusty apprentice with a little help from his engineer pops built a power supply that's smoother then anything I've ever used and I've used quite a few from spaulding to dermagraphics, national, technical, and eikon to name a few i'm not dissing these companies but my power supply has ZERO readable ripple with a radio shack multimeter as compared to my eikon which has about 1 to 1.5 volts rippling and I did it for about 70 bucks with 10 turn pot. varying color led etc. now digital readout or any of that but even when I had that stuff I never used it so be careful and responsible to our industry and clients and do it yourself
