Script Lettering

4 messages · last activity 9/17/2006

Just siting around working one day, I've come to the realization that some things were missing from my apprenticeship. Not so much that I didn't learn them, as the guy I learned from hadn't learned, just as the guy he learned from didn't learn it. I don't know how far back it goes, but there are a few gaps in the knowledge that's getting passed down. The biggest hole I can see, is the freehand script lettering. Sure, I can print something up on the computer, play with it, and get something nice from it, but I would really like to be able to do the old-school classic lettering. Anybody know any good places to learn this? Books or websites?
PSSSST!! HEY!! YEAH YOU!!! Just to warn ya the word freehand is taboo on this forum!! Watch out!!
Yeah, I've noticed. Doesn't change my mind though. Freehand just seems more...artistic, I guess.
i wish it WAS taboo cuz i fucking sick of hearing it every 2 posts.
