self tattoos

my 15-year-old brother took one of my amusing anecdotes a little too seriously, and gave himself (and i think a couple of his friends) self tattoos by carving into their arms with sharpies. they are crappy tattoos, and look like they're getting infected. i'm wondering a couple of things: 1. what is the likelihood that this will turn into some serious blood infection? 2. is sharpie dangerous for self tatoos? 3. how permanent would this kind of sharpie carved tattoo be?
If he/they do get ink poisoning, it should not be that bad. May need some meds, but nothing serious. I don't know much about it, but if you call (1-800-222-1222), that will get you to the national poison control center. They would be able to answer your questions much better than I can. As far as the tattoo goes, im not sure how permanent it will be. Hope this helps a bit.
yep good advice there if the ink stays in let me know i may be able to help get it lightened if not out completley.
was really your "Little brother" the one how got a self tattoo??? just wondering :)
