okay, i already know the answer to this question and i don't know why i'm even posting it... maybe just to show the guy proof of what you guys will say...
here's the deal.... this guy has seen what i can draw and he likes alot of stuff plus what he's seen in my tat zines, not to mention some of the tats on me... anywho... he wants tats of course, but he wants me to tat them on him.... i already told him i'm no artist... i'm just wanting to be one, aspire to be one, but i am far from a tattooist... he says, whats the difference, you draw it on paper you draw it on the body and then ink it...
i say it's more complicated then that.. i say, it's way diff. w/ a needle then a pencil...a pencil i can erase, a needle w/ ink i can't.. plus i don't know the first thing about inking w/ a machine... etc.. and that i'd be scared to do it... i told him how i haven't taken the bbp course.... i told him, if you want something i drawed or whatever you go get it professionally done...i said i don't want me to do your first tattoo and have it turn out bad... the one he wants is a simple design, but it involves shading and shadowing and inkwise i wouldn't know how to do it...
trust me, i refused to do this guy... cuase like i said, i don't know nothing when it comes to that...if i ever tatted anyone myself, it would be myself, but i'm even scared to do myself... he said he'd be my guinea pig... hey it's nice to have that, but only when you actually know what you're doing...
so what would you say? like i said, i already know the answers, but i think he might want proof or something...
serious question that i need to ask

Telling him no would be proof enough in my mind...If an artist told me straight up that they were not qualified to work on me I would be forever grateful....You did the right thing...Keep doing the right thing....You are far from being ready to tattoo...thats in YOUR OWN WORDS and I give you props for knowing that and acting accordingly.....Good choice!!!...TAz
You know the answer. You should absolutely not tattoo someone until your mentor, who should be a very talented experienced tattoo artist themselves, tells you its ok.
