Smoking Accessories and Tattooing. Not Allowed???!!!!

9 messages · last activity 3/14/2006

Why is it that a tattoo parlor and a smoking accessory shop can not be located in the same location? My husband is a very talented glass blower, and we have friends who tattoo why can't we all play at the same address. Because, the law says so. But, how do I verify these laws, and who do I target to fix it? Someone more smarter than myself, help out please. Thank you Bique
i know in colorado it is legal to have a head shop/tattoo shop. they usually suck.
Yea...tattooing doesn't have enough problems! Let's associate it with drug paraphernalia. It's what the noble artform of tattooing needs. Every legit shop should be selling bongs and cocaine grinders. The industry owes a great debt to those of you who care so much about it to associate it with such things.

shut up u stuiped fuck, noone cares if u think there shouldnt be bowls and pipes sold in tattoo shops, keeps ur fuckin opinions to urself
Brandon, you obviously dont know or care too much for the art of tattooing. If anyone should shut the fuck up around here its you. Smoke shops and tattoo studios should both push their arts separately. People who sell merchandise should not be selling tattoos at the same time. Merch and tattoos are completely different beasts. Tattoos should be done in a studio dedicated to tattooing in my opinion.
Why shouldn't you sell things from an art studio other than art? DUh... Why would a liquor store have a car lot in the same place? When people do stupid things and are not in a "good state of consciousness" they don't need to get poked on. Those people who come in drunk and stoned get shit they come back day week month later going hey can you change this or just spend the rest of thier lives either bitchin about how stupid it is to get a tattoo.
HAHAHA- Brandon is the only idiot I know calling people STUPID, but CAN'T SPELL IT!!!!
Tattooing is not like a regular art. Its on someones skin for the rest of their life. Till they die. To the person getting the tattoo, forever. It seems like such decisions should be made without other distractors. The thought that goes into purchasing a piece of art, shoes, clothes, or bongs is much different than the thought that goes into (or should go into) getting a tattoo. Having lots of other merch for sale(of any kind) at a tattoo studio kinda equates tattoos with merchandise (which is very far from the truth) and distracts people from what they should be doing, focusing on learning about and getting tattoos. Now, I aint some stuck up jerk, Im all for the art of glass blowing and what not, but I respect tattooing enough to know the two dont mix well. Lastly, while I certainly respect the stoner culture, having more 18 year old kids high as kites in my tattoo studio is something that I(and most respected artists I know) would avoid like the plague. It is just a situation that doesnt make for good tattoos. Open the head shop down a few doors down.
