Well, you may want your son to have a studio in your house, but there is a lot to learn about the art of tattooing before you can just "open shop in my house". Hanicapped or not your son has a lot to learn about tattooing before opening a studio. Tattooing is permenent, so its an art that cant just be jumped into. You and your son should get tattooed by fantastic artists and get their advice after showing them his artwork portfoliio. I dont think the replies we're that bad considering you havnt done your homework about the tattoo industry and just presume the only thing your son needs is a few tools to become a tattoo artist. The last thing the world needs is another fellah scratching out of his house. If his artwork is undeniable, then talented tattoo artists will see this and help.
mam you have to realize that most tattoo artists busted there ass to get were they are.and the ones who did start on there own learned through trial and error! and most certainly didnt open a buisness during this time period.you would be stupid to open yourself up to those kinda law suits, this is not a hobby ,this is not pencil and paper and most certainly not charity.if your son has the drive to become a tattoo artist then he should go for it,but do it the right way!he needs to be in a pro attmosphere to learn the trade.go to conventions talk to local shops about his situation can he leave the house?most shops are wheel chair accesible does he plan on having someone else set up and break down his station?how will he tattoo a full backpiece?does he know how a machine runs?how to fix it or tune it?will he be able to lean over a client for hours on end?these are things you need to consider and if he can do all this then he can work at a normal shop.jumping head first into an empty pool can really hurt!opening a shop because its convinient isnt the answer .
