sun bad for new tat?

Is it true that the sun is bad for a new tattoo..I'm a lifeguard...work in the sun, will i mess up my tat?

Yes, sun is very bad for a new tattoo. Your skin has lots of little holes in it, and that damn sun will get a direct route right to the ink, and fade is as fast as it can. Keep your tattoo out of the sun while it is healing(scab comes off and skin gets back to normal, probably 3-5 weeks... your skin will get its regular texture back), and afterwards make sure your using 30+ sunscreen. Sun like to fade ink, its you job to stop it!
