Swelling and redness after tatoo

I got a large cover-up on my ankle Saturday night and it has been red and swollen around my ankle bone since the morning after. My mother-in-law said it had fever in it but Im not sure. It did leak liquid stuff the next day but hasnt since. Is this something I need to get checked out by a doctor or will it go away on its own?

sounds norm.fever is due to the irratation of skin.leaking fluid (subcutaneious fluid is quite norm) elevate foot asprin or,tylenol,or ibuprophen as directions on bottle as needed for pain. may stay swollen for a while as itt is in the lower extremities area.
