Does anyone know of a reference online for what the different elements of Japanese tattoos symbolise? I'm interested in starting a 3/4 sleeve in that style. I'm very interested in the style but I'm also at a loss for subject material. I'm considering a pair of sleeves that compliment each other in some way. One that symbolises a kind of artistic side and another that symbolises a more violent one a "Chrysanthemum/Sword" kind of thing. If anyone can help it's appreciated. Thanks.
