Talk me out of it

HELLO, i am 16 and when i was about 13 i saw this tribal tattoo and loved it ever since then recently i re-drew it to fit my leg better i have wanted this thing for three years i am aloud to get it does this still sound like a bad idea

I think that if you have to ask public opinion if it's a bad idea then maybe you need to sit down and re-think it. Maybe you really want a tattoo, but you've picked the wrong design or are planning on putting it in the wrong spot for your body. Kick back and think about it. You've said you've wanted it for 3 years. Have you done any research on it in those 3 years? Maybe looked into shops (online or in person) talked to artists, etc? My bro was the same way, as soon as he turned 16 he got the tattoo that he swore he wanted - a devil with his name underneath. He'll be 30 this month, when he was 21 he had that tattoo covered up. So seriously. it's been 3 years, won't kill you to wait a bit longer (can I suggest 18 or 19 without offending you?) to really think on what art you want. Personally, I've always been of the opinion that you should wait til you're in your 20s. But I guess that's just me being a fuddy duddy. (and er. it's been a year. i'm back. kinda)

yah i have looked into artists im going to a place my cousin when i have to drive almost 7 hours so its not like im going to just and place

same bee!!! It's been a great year, my daughter will be 1 this month. I haven't made it online very often because I've had such strange (and varied) work environments. But now I've a desk job! And a small savings towards some new artwork. ;) I'm going to have some questions soon too for the forum about my own pieces that I would like to do. What's been going on here? It seems like the subjects are more on point now a days, and the posters more informed/educated. Fill me in! I'm excited to be back!

I'd agree with these guys for a few reasons: you're not done growing yet, if you ever changed your mind, you don't want to go through the laser surgery and other crap before you can cover up a giant tribal piece. most reputable artists won't do it for you = higher chance of a badly executed design and/or unsanitary conditions and the best reason -- you can get great artists near you in Toronto and surrounding areas if you wait a couple years before getting a tattoo!!!

Just stop. Stop. Don't do it. This is me talking you out of it. And for the record, if you're asking people to talk you out of it you shouldn't be doing it. Although all your classmates might think it would be wicked sweet to get a bad ass tribal, I think most of us can pretty much guarantee you'll be kicking yourself in the ass for in in a few years. And it's been said before and I'll say it again... NO DECENT SHOP WILL TATTOO ANYONE UNDER 18. Period.

and most likely you will regret it later.
