Tatoo alteration

I have a tatoo on my hip of a rose with a banner and a name in the banner. Is it possible to have the banner filled in and the name changed or does it just have to be filled in? I would appreciate any help you could give me. My tatoo is over 20 years old. Thanks

Alot of this depends on who you choose as an artist, and the condition of the current tattoo. Do your research look for a qualified artist, I'd suggest someone proficient in cover-ups, they seem to have good vision as far as adding to and disguising existing tattoos.
