tatoos driving me crazy!!!!

hey i had my tatoo done about three years ago its on the top of my hand its a heart with wings and a halo, about 6 months ago pimples appeard and now has scabbed, but cant understand why just the heart has done this and not the rest, went bac to the tatooist and he said i cud b allergic to the red ink, and advised me to have it re-done in pink to flush the infection out, my doctors was useless, and am now waiting on a dermatology appt, but its drivin me crazy it itches like made and as on my hand its very noticable, wod u advice having it re coloured or will antibiotics clear up a tatoo infection?????????

Antibiotics won't do anything because it isn't an infection, it sounds indeed like a allergic reaction, a.k.a red reaction. Instead of seeing your useless Doctor (your words, not mine), you should go to an allergist. I've heard of the method mentioned about doing it over in a different color to help flush the ink out, but there would still be remnants of red in it. Lazering the heart and having the red completely removed would be ideal, then you could go back in with a different color all together such as blue, green, yellow, but nothing with red in the combination as you may be allergic to other colors that have red in it, depending on your sensitivity (pink is made with red and white, purple is red and blue, etc). From here on in, don't get any more tattoos with red in them.

what kind of ink was used...??
