Tatto first timer with questions

I just tried to post one and if erased everything I wrote...grrrrr. The long and the short, I am 18 and yes I have done my research on this, but am still coming up short on information. I have ideas, but not enough to commit to permanently altering my body. I am looking for an easy to navigate website where I can search for designs. I also would like to know of tat locations, besides the ones mentioned in the other forrum, that could give anyone the wrong idea about anything. any ideas of places that are easily covered up for work but also easily shown off when I want to? also any info you can give me about how accutane effects tattooing. Some say to wait a month after the last dose, and another said two years. I'd like the time frame to be a little more specific than that. Thanks so much.

Well first off good luck with your first tattoo. As far as design reference google image search is AWESOME. Whether you're looking for pictures of actual tattoos or just something you want to get tattooed, it's by far one of the best resources, if not the best for designs. As far other good sites to look for questions I love ww.BMEzine.com. There's lots of personal experiencs, pictures, FAQ's, just a lot of rad stuff to check out. Just remember when looking for designs this of aspects of you like but don't copy a tattoo directly. You're best bet is to get together 3-6 images of what you like and bring it into a custom shop and have them design something just for you!

Oh and as far as hideable places, but also something you can show off... a lot of that depends on what you have to wear at work. Feet are a cool spot that are easily shown off or covered. I mean just think logically on that question, what spots are covered by clothes when you're at work but not when you're dressing casual?

Thanks. I'll try that site. Like I said I did do my research. Google is my home page. lol most of the sites confused me though. I'd get about 10 minutes into it and want to find someone to ask for directions. :) Currently, I'm trying hena tats to find the aprox size and location I like. I was a little hesitant before I got it, but now I'm positive I want it...and soon!

First of all, I want to commend you for doing your homework before getting your first tattoo. I don't know of anywhere better than google images for inspiration, but as for your other questions: Placement- I think your best bet is to think about the most conservative workplace you can imagine yourself being in. For most people, that's an office setting. If you're female, the most revealing thing you would wear would be a knee-length skirt and short sleeve blouse, or slacks and a short-sleeve dress shirt if you're male. So a tattoo on your shoulder blades, upper arms, or legs (above your knee if you're female) would be covered by work attire but visible under casual attire. Accutane- Talk to your dermatologist.
