TATTOO ARTIST_DRUGGIE??

Ya know I get a lot and I mean a LOT of e-mails from people on this site most of which are intelligent queries about tattoos and/or tattooing...But here in the past couple of months I have had an inordinate amount of e-mails from people telling me about all the drugs they are doing and selling and how high they are and how much money they make selling drugs...WHAT THE FUCK??? Do these people just automatically assume that since I am a tattoo artist I must be a druggie as well? I just do not get it...I mean these people get really detailed and I have even had two people ask me if I would trade tattoos for drugs...UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!! For all these people know I could be a cop or a narc or something.And people wonder why they get caught and go to prison......Its almost like " hey TAz is a tattoo artist...I know he MUST get high"...That fucking offends the shit out of me! Quit presuming people!! To preclude that a person uses illegal drugs simply because they are a tattoo artist is ludicrous!.. Now excuse me while I go shoot up!....MORONS!!!!

Sad, but true. A small minorority giving the industry a bad name. I have known individuals who quit shit like that when they became an artist simply because they didn't want to screw their careers up... The same can be said about any field though, drugs and careers don't mix. If you love your work you won't, you won't do it. I wouldn't go to an artist I know did that shit.

Yeh, i despise stereotyping in all forms. While i'm inclined to give a lot of latitude concerning a person's recreational choices, i would be pretty nervy about getting permanently marked by someone whose hand-steadiness i couldn't trust. Practising drug-heads should no more tattoo than do brain surgery. Now excuse me while i remove a syringe from my frontal lobe.

I, on the other hand, just can't get enough..............I really dig that green stuff that you can wrap up like tiny burrito, and then inhale the contents out one end while you cook it on the other...............or that artificial cinnamon that I put on my french toast, that stuff give's me crazy dreams..........like Nyquil and steriods. Or that artificial sweetener that comes in ziplock bags............................I get way more of a rush from that than the REAL sugar. Yeah man, I can dig it, totally, for sure!!

Now don't get me wrong guys...I don't give a shit what anyone does but to confess your drug business to someone ya don't even know and to assume someone does illegal drugs simply because you are a tattoo artist is ridiculous and dangerous if ya don't like prison... Now quit botherin me...I gotta get this batch of acid done!!

I used to do drugs... Now I just do more drugs now that I'm a tattoo artist... all these tattoos mean I'm a junky... Didn't you know that? Shit I don't even want to open my tattoo shop anymore... I just want to flip dope and be on welfare... SECTION 8 housing baby... Meanwhile I have no problem with people whom actually need help.. But christ fuck I wish people didn't make so many assumptions... Don't get me wrong.. I used to blaze everything but my shoe laces... but then again I also used to be a fucking traincar bomber and destroy property and call it art. I love graffiti... But looking back on those days... I'm lucky I'm not locked up... I don't care what anyone does in thier free time... But tattooing is more important to me that some dope... that is my dope... because in fact... I am theshiznitozamzipsnapzap... word...

Josey just a few short years ago I would have had to agree with you...but I have seen a BIG wind of change over the past 10 years...There are a LOT of the newer artists going the "straight edge"way...that is to say...NO DRUGS PERIOD!....I know at least in my area that is the norm.

i understand the logic, it is truly unfortunate but true that there is a small minority of people that do extreme drugs and by the time they are 35 they cant tattoo anymore cause they are so drugged out. on the other hand i have traveled alot and recieved alot of tattoos and i have heard from alot of artists that smoking pot gives them a steadier hand. which again in logic makes sense to me. it is a stimulant that relaxes the shit on you. just thought id throw it out there. take it easy guys. oh yeah this doesnt mean if you want to be a tattoo artist smoke pot. but IF YOU WANT TO PLAY BASEBALL - STEROIDS ARE DEFINATLY THE WAY TO GO!
