tattoo deposit

I put a $100 deposit down for a tattoo for a Saturday. Then they informed me the day before that they were going to a tattoo convention and couldnt do it. I found this pretty stupid since they already knew in advance that they were going to the convention, so why would they book me for that day?.. Should they give me my deposit back if I request it, since there has been no contact as to when I can book it next? (and quite frankly, I dont really want to go through them after that).

I'm speaking as a customer, not a pro but YES, your money should absolutely be refunded.
