tattoo for minors

I would like to know were I could get a tattoo at 15 with a parents approval?

Here we go. I'm sum it up this way. You're too fucking young. No decent place whether it's legal or not will tattoo a 15 year old. And your parents are crazy if they'd let you. The end.

Definitely wait at least until you're 18, I advise you to wait longer.

I just got my first tattoo for my 16th birthday present and i just have to tell you that getting a tattoo as a minor is a big thing it should not be taken lightly, here are some things you should think about before getting it. If you're getting a tattoo just to be cool at school or to show it off to your friends or whatever, STOP right now. Don't be a moron, while tattoo's are great pieces of art you want everyone to see don't get it just because getting them is "in" at the moment. choose a design that you will like 20+ years down the road, be smart about it. don't get something you're gonna regret. you have to live and love your tattoo everyday. Since its going to be with you for life choose wisely. What i did was chose the design and waited 3 months to see if i would still like it forever. Think about your future career. Sadly tattoo's are still seen in a negative light by some people, and your placement of the tattoo on the body could result in you being judged negatively in some work environments and not being hired to work at all in some cases. I recommend getting it somewhere that can be covered up by normal clothes until you know the "rules" of your life career. Anyways, those are pretty much the major points you should sit on before getting it. I think getting tattooed as a minor isn't all that bad, as long as the minor is mature and understands perfectly their actions. Since finding that is rare however i can see why most adults would be skeptical of it. Cheers matt

Matt- While your response was much more educated then most teenage posts I need to tell you "waiting three months to see if you'll like it forever" is pretty stupid. Some people wait for YEARS. At 16 (for the most part, I'm not generalizing everyone) there isn't a whole lot of sense of self although that is the prime age for being convinced you know everything about yourself and the world. Just fucking wait. Til 18 at the LEAST, even then it's still questionable at times.

I agree Mary. I waited years, seriously years before I started getting the majority of my tattoos. I'm just getting started on my main concepts. I more or less waited because I was in search of the "right" artist. A lot of research should be done before committing to a design and an artist. To the original poster, you really should wait, in the long run you'll be very glad you did.

i agree with what doodler 91 said a few responses up. ive been there truuust me. ive responded to alot of these uestions and told my story. i dont really have the time at the moment to type it all, but trust me when i say wait. if your absolutely set on getting one now keep in mind youll always have it so get something youll like your entire life. i got one at your age and am now looking to get it covered because it was a dumb tattoo and wont go well with my sleeve. tattoos are art, not something you get to look tuff or cool. so be smart.
