tattoo hurts like hell

i got a tatto about a week ago with lots of color, it hurt more than usual and after a week it still hurts just as bad. sometimes i can't stand on my leg that the tattoo is on. i haven't gone to the doctor but i would like to know if somethings wrong with it. any suggestions?

Is it your 1st tattoo? I have 5 tattoos with lots of color and I've never experienced that problem. I honestly think you should go see a doctor, before it gets any worse.

there is no normal reason for your leg to still hurt or to not be able to stand on it a week after a tattoo. is it infected? i don't think the color should have anything do to with it. if it hurts bad enough to make a post about it, i would go see a doctor or the very least go back to the artist.

are u sure u didnt mistakinly walk into an apmutation shop? not the tattooist? i cant think of any reason even with an infection why u wouldnt be able to stand on your leg!

Ok now this is a topic I can relate to I got my 7th Tattoo as big as the whole side of my Leg on theApril 14 th and the whole Leg hurts like a B**** and was red and even Blisted the day after I got it . So I know what your saying ..But this is the first tattoo that I have ever had a reaction like this . As of why I have no clue maybe the duration mine took 3hr45min someone suggested that maybe my body just cant handle that . But who knows try to think of anything diffrent you may have done this time .I used 2 diffrent products then all my others .

ok, i have had a bit of a problem with the tattoo hurting, i will tell you it is the ink! they used a ink that is having a reaction to your skin. some ink like royal dragon & scream, you know the cheap ass ink on ebay, well it will hurt your skin, and i really mean "ouch dont touch it hurt"

I know what you mean. I got my tattoo 4 days ago on my leg. It was a cover-up of a small older tattoo. It hurt a lotbwhen it was being done and on the second day it even hurt when I put pressure on that leg when walking. The skin also hurt and I couldnt let anything touch it. I dont think it is infected..no temp or anything...just pain. Today is day 4 and its starting to lessen...but wow...still hurts some. Looks great though!

I'd get it checked out - also just because you don't have a temp doesn't mean theres no infection. While a high temp usually reflects infection, infection can occur without a high temp. With tattooing and using cheap inks, either infection or an allergic reaction would be the cause of the pain. However, if the pain is radiating right down your leg and you can not weight bear on that leg, I'd be asking questions. >modermyth<
