Tattoo infection on foot

Hello, I just got a tattoo on my foot about 2 weeks ago and i think it is infected because it is swollen and i have white bumps on top of my tattoo. Last week it hurt to bend my foot but now that pain as went away. I have been washing it with dial soap and putting triple antibotic ointment on it. I was wondering could anyone tell me if it is infected or not! thanks Sincerely, Jessica sain

Jessica, Take it from someone who is learning the hard way - when in doubt go to a doctor. Well, first go see the artist who did your foot and ask him if it's normal (or someone on here might ask for a pic of your foot -- it's ok, they're harmless folk, send away). But seriously. If there's a possibility of infection, don't risk it -- spend the bux and see a doctor. I will say this, from my personal experience -- Dial is not always your friend. I had huge issues with that soap and I know a few others have as well (when used for tattoo healing process). I will also say this, again from personal experience - the longer you wait the worse it could possibly be. You don't screw around with your skin - ya know?

Bee is right. STOP USING THE DIAL! It has some nasty stuff in it. I suggest good ole plane and simple Ivory. It is about as pure of soap that you can find. You should also stop using the anti-biotic as well. After a while that stuff will mess with ya. Get an advance healing NON-SCENTED lotion and use that at least 4-5 times a day. And yes, take the time to see your doctor to be on the safe side....J

Dial soap should never be used on a fresh tattoo nor should it be recommended for use. PERIOD!!! Thats probably where the problem lies!

I also got a tattoo done on my foot about three weeks ago. In one spot I thought I had a bug bite not that spot has turned into a ring form and is raised on the edges it doesn't usually itch all the time but when it does it won't stop for a while. It hasn't gotten any bigger recently but it is now pussing with a clear liquid. Would this be from the irritation of the bug bite or is it worse than that? Thanks Erin

I had a tattoo done last Tuesday, and by Thursday it was heavily swollen, painful,and red! eek. the hospital said it was infected. rest it, and get it checked oot asap! emx
