tattoo infection

I just got a bio-mechanical piece worked on a couple days ago. I went in and some gray washing was done to add texture/depth on my arm. I do get paranoid, and it may be nothing, but here's the deal. It is fairly red around the gray areas and is fairly sore. Water jets from the shower sting, and I can prolly equate to all this feeling like a sunburn. In fact, it is warm to the touch. It was a lot of work that was done, and no areas that was not touched by the needle are red. When ever im done washing it, it appears to be a clear liquid/plasma coming out of my skin. My artist recommended that I use neosporin cream to deal with the redness, however I am open to more opinions and I would much appreciate them.
In the first place never let the jets from the shower head hit your tattoo!!! Its a fresh wound, no wonder its irritated..JHEEEESUS!! And never EVER use Neosporin!!!
I was using a product called H2Ocean, until the artist recommended neosporin to deal with the irritation. You know anything about H2ocean?
H2ocean being a cream I got at the place I got my tattoo.
