i'm thinking about getting a tattoo but i have severe allergic reactions to certain metals that touch my skin. Now the needle is not what worries me but in an article above i heard that tattoo ink can contain small substance of metals. Exactly what metals do it contain and are there any ink without metals in them?

iron oxide, zinc, nickle, along with other minerals and metals.some inks contain plastic fill and such also.however i have heard of ZAP supposed to be all organic and natural.i personaly have no experince with this ink and i do not know the duration brightness and how it lays into the skin.but i have heard some good responses on it but like i said i have no personal experince with it. another alternative is have the artist do a test spot real close to your arm pit. just a dot or two of the colors you are wanting.if ya break out with that color the reaction will be mild and you can take a different course of action best of luck ( don)
I was curious about ZAP also. Anyone ever use it and know about the quality? I'm all for the all natural stuff.
Yes I have used ZAP ink..its ok nothin special but it lays in ok..longevity by what I can tell at 3 yrs is ok too...If organic is yer bag thats the way to go...Anybody know of any other "organic" pigments...TAz
thanx for the info taz. just wondering where to get it I tried to google it but got a bunch of zapping tattoos with laser treatment...
I haven't seen it around for a while...Anybody?
I used to see it advertised heavily constantly, and then they sorta vanished off of the face of the earth. I haven't exactly searched them out either.
do they still make this type of ink or is it discontinued?
With all the Law Suits in the Ink industry I am sure a LOT are dropping out. Its getting to be a very expensive proposition. Star and Iron Butterfly have all of their stuff Gamma rayed now and have gone through Hell and Back. Also, Their Ink is also re-package and sold under diff. names in Diff. places by diff People. Its funny when I see someone condemn 1 ink and praise another when they are actually the same.lol

Hey john not trying to be a pain here but could you please give me some examples of what companies make two of the same ink with diff names? I really never realized that they did that.
Id love to but cant, Sorry. Tommies a very good friend of mine and thats confidential.

WHAT IS THE BEST INK OUT?
in my opinion there is no best ink or machines. what there is what best works for you. ive tried inks or machines that people love and didnt really see what the buzz was about. you need to see what works best for you. basically different strokes for different folks. also you have the skin factor that comes into play. unlike paper everyones skin reacts different to different methods and materials as im sure you allready know.
thru hard work persistence and picking peoples minds you will find what works best for. also as im sure you allready know avoid spaulding products and most things off of ebay. when buying machines it is best to buy them in person unless you have a lot of recommendations or it is from a quality supplier that will only sell to proffesionals.
AH Crockett we have missed your intelligent and forthright answers
glad to see ya back on here!!...TAz
PS..oh yeah...what he said!!
i'm interested in ZAP INK .. can i have any information how to make an order via email or fax for the so-called organic ink?
since i'm from indonesia .. it is still very much expensive to make a phone call order to england or america ... hehe
thanks in advance, guys
is there any update on this ZAP ink? i too have a very severe allergic reaction to nickel and other metals, to the extent that i have been on a sort of steroid for it, prendisone. i was looking to get worked on but i dont know if it is even possible because of my skin condition. does anyone know anything about any ink that i might use or stay away from? or anyone have any over all suggestions?
tatoo inks may also contain, mercury, formaldehyde, arsenic, cobalt, lead, lead compounds, plastics, antifreeze, antimony, beryllium, antimony, nickel, selenium, and many other cancer causing and highly hazardouse chemicals. be careful, organic ink is virtually non existent, even organic ink is only partially organic, and tattoo ink companies dont have to ever tell anyone whats even in the inks, because of "trade secrets", like not being allowed to know the "secret ingredient" or "secret recipe" when you go to a restaurant.
p.s. sorry i accidentally misspelled tattoo.
