TATTOO LAWS

For all interested parties...I have found a site that comprehensively lists all laws and regulations for tattooing and body piercing listed by state...This is not just a summary kind of half assed deal... it has the actual state laws...the site is... www.tattoojoy.com...just click on laws and there it is! Thank you taz.I live i p.a And have read the tattoo joy law for my state.I personally copy identification of every person that gets tattooed.It does not say that a minors id has to be copied.Say a minor gets tattooed and i do not copy there id.2 weaks latter a parent says that there child is a minor.As for the shop owner they were shown a false id.Now there is no copy.Who is to say that they even had an id to begin with.Also the municipal building in my town does not no anything about tattoo law.It is starting to make sence n wy underaged kids are being tattooed daily at some of the local shops.I dont want someone that knows nothing about art or tattooing telling me how to run my shop but i also dont want to have people looking at the industry in a bad light.The industry is going to commercial shit anyway so i guess it does not matter anymore.

Hey Murph!...Hows biz?...Yeah I thought that might come in handy....As for my shop we get copies of ID from every customer( even those of legal age) and keep it FOREVER....We have had the fake ID and irate parent thing happen and of course mommys' little darlin would never use a fake ID or pay someone to act like they are the parent....then we pull out the copy and they get real nice real quick....Its so bad here that if someone is signing for their kid they have to have the same last name with photo ID or a birth certificate for the minor and if its like a legal guardian they must show valid court papers.....yeah we may lose a bit of business and it pisses some people off but hey!...Fuck em...its MY license on the line and this state and city will pull a tattoo or piercing license QUICK!! Better safe than sorry for me!...TAZ
