tattoo machine question

i just bought a second hand tattoo machine.It runs very smooth until you r hand touches the frame then it slows down. It sounds like a wire is touching the frame but this not the case. I have taken it apart and put it back together all looks well but problem prosists. Any ideas? If this is not the site to pose this question i appologize and ask for re direction thank you so much.
