tattoo over birthmark

I'm not sure if any of you guys have ever covered up a birthmarm before, but just wondering... I talked to a dermitologist beforehand who said it's all good when it comes to a tattoo coverup but it seems to be drying up and scabbing way more over it... unfortunately the Doc has a 3month wait to see him and my artist is on tour with his former studio so I'm not sure who else to turn to... Anyway... is that normal... I tried taking pics, but none of them seem to come out with enough detail to actually show whats happening. I can't say I'm extremely worried, but I am a little concerned... if anyone has expreience with this can you ease my mind?

Since not all birth marks are the same, not seeing your's makes it a mite hard to give a real good reply, but I also note ya state you're a little over a week into it, well, relax for now, let it heal, see what ya got. Too many unknown variables to give you any better reply....Doc

Makes sense man, and that's why I'm not overly concerned about it... was just wondering if anyone had any experience with it. Guess you're right though, different people, different birthmarks... After closer examination, it doesn't look too bad really... it's a little drier there but probably cause the black is more solid... I'm probably just being a "worry wart" as if I just said that >_<

No problem, most people 'worry' about how their tattoo is healing, it is completely understandable. Might I ask, is this your first? Anyways, sounds like it might be 'solid' work which may well take longer to heal. Again, try not to fret, let it heal up good, then evaluate it ...Doc

Naw, it's not my first, just seemed like it was only scabbing at that one sopt... the next day it was scabbing more evenly, so maybe it just got a little drier or something there. They're starting to flake off now and the color still looks solid back underneath.

How did everything turn out?
