I recently had some work done on my left forearm. Apparently my pores opened pretty quickly. What can I do to prevent this from happening when I go back Saturday to finish?

Could get a bag with some ice and rub it over the area, Dunno how well this would work but cold water does help close pores.
Bad tattoo artists will make things up in order to shift the blame from themselves to the customer. This kinda sounds like one of those cases. I've been tattooing almost 8 years proffessionally plus a 2 year apprenticeship and i've never heard of open pores affecting my ability to tattoo. Did the artist use this as an excuse to break up the tattoo into multiple sittings? What was the tattoo? Where on your body was it placed? How big is the tattoo? What exactly did he say about pores and how it might affect the tattoo? Did your pores affect the price? Was the shop busy at the time? Was he acting weird? Please answer these questions so i can get a better idea of what was going on and why. I am almost certain there's something else going on that has more to do with him or her than your pores. With more info i'm pretty sure i can give you a more conclusive answer. Also, you must wait until the tattoo is FULLY healed to work on it again without risking scarring or other complications, a week very well may not be long enough and it is odd that he or she would schedule a definitive appointmen. I'm very interessted to hear more from you about this. It is my biggest pet peeve when artists use customers lack of knowledge to their advantage. It might be unsafe to return to this artist.
I'd like to see the answer to those questions as well cause it kind of seems like BS to me. It's true some tattoo artists will make up lame excuses, primarily to cover their butts if something comes out bad or doesn't heal right. You know that way you think your tattoo looks bad because YOUR pores nothing something the artist did.
Hopefully the artist isn't trying to take you for a ride cause this doesn't make much sense to me either.
Its nothing like that. The artist is a good friend of mine who is not charging me. The tattoo is 3 1-inch black bands on my left forearm starting just below my elbow. It was just kind of weird because my skin would not take the ink. He would color in an area and it would just wipe away. I've been doing a little research and the only I could find said that after a while your pores may open up and your skin will not take the ink. I have a large tribal peace on my right arm with alot of black and I didn't have any trouble with it until about 3 hours into the tatt.
