I posted a few weeks ago about a new tattoo I got on my hip that I was afraid may be infected. Turns out it wasn't. It has now been 4 weeks and I have a few questions. The color on my tattoo is almost non-existant, and there are brownish colored blotches all over it. Some of the black lines actually even came off during healing. I also have some of the black line ink bleeding and what looks to be scars over alot of it the tattoo.
The guy who did my tattoo has 25 years experience and has done some beautiful work on my sister, but said quite a few times that the area I am getting done was very difficult. He stretched my skin while he was tattooing as well, is this a normal technique?
I am afraid to go back to him and let him fix it...What if he makes it worse...Not sure what the best thing to do is? Any advise?

25 years tattooing should be more than enough experince and trust for you and you say he has done beautiful work and also state that he did explain the area was a difficult one. stretching needs to be done but ive seen some not stretch i always have always will. true the hip area can be a bothersome area.i would see about talking to him about this piece and fixing it. i would also recomened that you give it at least another 4 to 6 weeks of heal time before any touch up work is to be done.i say this without seeing said tattoo and i am going on the fact that its not too bad of shape. as far as the color well sometimes this happens especially to the hip area.lots of friction in that area from clothes unless you be a nudist.if ya have any other concerns worrys or questions feel free to shoot me a e mail thanks (don)
there is a possability that you suffered from an allergic reaction, it sounds as if you were scarred in the process, really very difficult to say with out actually seeing your piece. one last thing though.... are you a diabetic? and have you controlled your blood sugars while it was healing? it can be very common for diabetics to not heal properly and suffer from infection. for this reason I urge diabetics to re-think on getting a tattoo.
The diabetes thing is a very important facet in the healing of tattoos!...I know I am a dibetic....although I have gotten no ink in many years ( ran out of skin) when I was bein worked on I noticed that if I kept my blood sugar at optimal levels the healing was much quicker and the work turned out much better
So Lord Mortis...We agree on that and that subject should be explained to the client if they tell you that they are diabetic...TAz
I'm not diabetic. Thanks for the advise though. I will go back to the tattoist and have him check it out.
yes Taz, i agree with this whole-heartedly, and perhaps we should also mention a couple other medical conditions that could possibly have ill effects combined with fresh tattoo wounds. i will set up a post listing some of these
